Your dammed if you do it wrong ...but you are out of luck if you don't do it at all.

Crafting a Social Media Policy that encourages respectful use of social media in regards to your business is more important than most people understand.
1. It provides a clear statement to employees that your business is interested in social media and what is being said about the company and industry.
2. It is a starting point to educate your employees on legal use of social media e.g. copyright, confidentiality etc.
3. A good social media policy will err toward encouragement  - with an eye to creating brand ambassadors out of employees.
